FOR SALE:A CONCOURS LEVEL KURT TANNER RESTORATION: 1965 Austin Healey 3000 MK3 in perfect colors that was previously restored by KT to body-off-the-frame, nut-and-bolt, Austin Healey Club Concours Gold standards. This car has been sparingly used since the restorationDetails of the restoration include a full stripdown of the car to the bare superstructure and any metal repairs made. The chassis was sandblasted, bolted on a rotisserie, seam sealed, epoxy primed, and then enamel coated and baked in a professional spray booth. All of the removed body panels were stripped to bare metal, backs painted, and then refitted to the superstructure for perfect fit/gapping. Show quality bodywork and paint was then performed, with coats of primer to flat off any imperfections. The car was finished in Axzo Nobel basecoat/clearcoat system with the final finish being color sanded, buffed, and polished.
The car was fitted with all new chromework or replated original items, along with all new 3-piece glass and body rubber kit. The interior trim was completely renewed with top quality, Concours correct John Skinner panel kit, front and rear seat kits, new foam. Carpets, armbars, door seals, and a new Walnut veneered dashboard was fitted. The car’s interior was finished off by a correct, black, crush grain vinyl top and matching top boot with bag. Mechanically, the car has been completely reconditioned including a full engine rebuild with all ancillaries (water pump, carburetors, starter, generator, distributor), clutch, gearbox, driveshaft, braking system with new lines and servo, cooling system, front and rear suspension, shocks, stainless exhaust system, (5) new stainless wheels and radial tire set. It runs and drives beautifully down the road with no issues.All of the correct finishes are in accordance with Concours guidelines, and correct decals, stickers, nameplates have been employed where appropriate. All of the original hardware (nuts, bolt, screws, washers, fittings, clips, hose clamps, etc.) has been retained and cadmium replated. The car’s entire electrical system has been completely rebuilt /renewed along with a new cotton wiring harness.The car includes a photo album chronicling it’s exhaustive restoration, along with a BMIHT certificate, top boot with bag, 5th chrome spare wheel.Overall, a turn-key, fully restored, desirable BJ-8 in a superb and rare original factory color scheme.
